Original era manufacture. Folding knife with a rounded tip blade so as to not puncture the life raft. Orange plastic grips, near new condition. OK, so that is our initial interpretation of what this contraption is, here is the real description from our friend US Navy Pilot Jim K, who actually knows.  "Had to chuckle at your description of the aviators shroud cutter as a raft knife with rounded tip to prevent puncturing the raft. While I suppose thats true it makes for a really lousy knife. It is part of the iteration the U.S. went through with shroud cutters. I was issued the cutters seen above. First we got the switchblade with folding shroud cutter. Almost at once, the knives turned up in street gangs and ours were swapped with the fixed blade type and a pocket knife (we called it a TL-29, which it is not). I never got a folding shroud cutter model....Maybe more than you want to know about a simple tool."Thanks Jim,
