Original era manufacture. This is a very nice quality item and shows a wonderful brass patina to its barrel and breech. No idea as to the age of it, but our guess would be in the 1920's. It was part of a large varied collection we recently purchased here in Arizona from the estate of a longtime local collector. The overall length including mount is 13 inches. The machined brass tube and trunions rest on a Fortress or Naval style mount of varnished mahogany with brass embellishments. The tube measures 8 inches in length with a swivel breech with a spring-loaded firing pin. There is a white cotton lanyard (does not glow under UV) which can be pulled and pivots the brass striker upwards to smack the rear of the breech. There are no markings whatsoever to be seen anywhere on the piece. We have no idea as to what it once fired, but it certainly has been in the past due to the powder residue visible when you open the breech. Nice item and a quality piece.
