Item #2661 : This is a 1/6 plate Daguerreotype housed in a half case. The image still retains its original seals.Some tarnishing around the perimeter but does not detract from the image.The image is of an adorable boy standing next to a table covered with a tinted red and blue cloth. His military style kepi is sitting on top of the cloth. This boy has a very sincere look on his face.The photographer is Albert J Beals who was an active daguerreian in New York City, NY 1846 to 1854.This picture has a lot going for it, IDd photographer, blue and red tinting, original seals, Daguerreotype and nice subject which is very clear.
