British WWII Pattern 2nd Model Dennison Para Smock
(7 photos)

$425.00

Original era manufacture. This is a well used example with brass Newey snaps, no interior label and in about a size 40. All of the buttons and snaps are present with no torn areas or holes. The pocket flaps are intact and the small flap, or tail, which buttons between the wearers legs is also present. Instead of a zipper neck closure this one has been modified and is now secured with six brass dish-shaped buttons with corresponding cloth button loops. There are some scattered stitch repairs and a small replaced section (about 4x6 inches)on the lower hem edge and overall the smock has a faded look to it. Although this pattern was introduced during WWII, they also saw service with British Para units in later years. Without a wartime dated label inside we cannot be 100% sure its WWII. Now if you are looking for something for display with a good combat look to it, well here you are.

$850.00

Original era manufacture. Wonderful quality uniform set of dark blue wool with white wool collar and cuffs, with heavy gold bullion trim. Neat old tailor's label in the collar, King's crown buttons throughout. Matching material high waisted trousers with a buttoned strap under the instep. Heavy gold wire shoulder straps with Lt.Colonel rank. Included with the set is an officers shoulder pouch with a gilded brass ASC emblem on the flap. No real issues with the set moth wise, the worst thing to report is that some of the bullion tape around the collar of the tunic needs to be tacked down again.
Japanese WWII Army Issue, Second Pattern Tropical Tunic
(5 photos)

$110.00

Original era manufacture. Olive tan colored cotton tunic with simple, black hard rubber buttons. The two pocket buttons are interesting in that they display a commercial slogan "For Gentlemen" in tiny lettering. All of the buttons are sewn with the same thread and appear original to the tunic. The tunic is quite clean with issue stamps on the interior and button-back flaps on the side. The small cloth strap & button which kept the bayonet in place is missing. Hard to notiec really.
British Pre WWII-Korean War Brigadier Uniform Set
(8 photos)

$950.00

Original era manufacture. Quality uniform set consisting of a scarlet colored, doeskin wool short jacket with a matching material dark blue wool vest. General officer gold & maroon sash, dark blue wool trousers with a red stripe on each leg. At the cuff are button straps which close under the instep. A Brigadier rank blue wool visor hat with red wool band and gold bullion visor trim is also included. Brigadier rank shoulder straps are on each shoulder with bullion stars and crowns. There is a label in the collar which has been restitched a bit and named to Capt.R. Curry and dated 1921. No doubt this uniform gave the Captain years of use as he advanced up the military rank ladder. The buttons are of gilded brass bearing a Kings crown and George V cypher. The hat displays a Queens crown and the cypher of Elizabeth II. There is some moth crazing to the surface of the top of the hat in addition to two small holes. Otherwise the cap is bright and clean. No moth damage to the jacket and vest, small amount of mothing to the trousers. Small size overall. This set was likely purchased by the Captain early in his career and updated rank-wise as the situation required over time. We purchased the set from a local collector who in turn purchased it at auction in the UK in the 1990's.
Japanese WWII Army Issue Raincoat

$85.00

Original era manufacture. Olive cotton raincoat with issue marks on the inside. At the time of our purchase two closure buttons were missing, we have supplied two originals from our stock, they are the correct size but are off a bit color-wise. There are a few small snags and stains to the fabric but overall the raincoat is quite sound.

This is presented as purchased, all of the items shown were included at that time. There is some very minor light scattered mothing to the set, no holes in the coat or trousers and some wear and fraying to the gold wire trim mostly around the collar. Overall the set is quite clean and presentable and rare being Aviation. There are loops for a Commanders Badge on the lower right chest and loops for medals on the upper left breast. The silk sash is frayed near the buckle on each side. The wool could use a brushing and pressing and once done this will be a magnificent display set.

US 1930's Identified 26th Division Commander, Major General's Uniform Set
(14 photos)

$1995.00

Original era manufacture. This uniform set once was worn by Major General Erland R.Fish, Divison Commander, 26th (Yankee Division) 1930-1934.

He enlisted as a cannoneer in the Massachusets NG in 1909. Served on the Mexican Border as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1916. Was promoted to Captain of Battery F, 2nd Mass. FA in 1917. Promoted to Major in 1918 with the 101st FA during WWI and saw service in the following campaigns; Champagne-Marne, Aisne-Marne, St.Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, Defense Sector, Chemin des Dames and others. In 1930 he was promoted to Major General 26th Infantry Division and retired in 1934. In 1941 he was appointed Commanding General of the Massachusetts State Guard and killed in an automobile accident in 1942.

The grouping consists of his Boston tailor marked officers visor hat, named Major General's tunic with direct embroidered silver bullion stars (two on each epaulette)and direct embroidered 26th Division SSI. In addition the ribbons for the Mexican Border Service, WWI Victory and Massachusets NG Long Service awards are sewn above the tunics left top pocket. Massachusetts NG gilded brass collar insignia on each collar point. Pair of matching material service trousers, matching material breeches, black leather Sam Browne belt with sword hanger and a well used pair of brown leather riding boots with spurs.

A considerable amount of archival research material is included with the lot, including a group photo image of General Fish shown right center front. In addition a copy of the December 2000 issue of Footlocker, the newsletter of AAMUC, detailing this uniform grouping and service details of General Fish is included.

The overall condition of the set is very good, no real moth issues to report, just light wear and use. The boots, belt, shirt and tie are not listed in the AAMUC article and may have been added by another collector. However the belt appears to be one very similar to the photograph of General Fish and the pictures in the AAMUC publication.

US WWI Identified 84th Division Uniform & Camouflage Helmet
(11 photos)

$450.00

Original era manufacture. Issue wool tunic & breeches with a period camouflage painted steel helmet. The tunic displays a terrific 84th Division SSI on its left shoulder, US & Engineer discs and an unusual Engineer rate on the right sleeve. There is scattered mothing, some severe on the breeches. The handpainted camouflage steel helmet lacks its liner and a portion of the chinstrap remains. At one time a matching pattern 84th Division insignia was on the front of the helmet, now only traces remain. There is a strip of medical adhesive placed across the underside of the helmet which displays the doughboy's name. This is a great set, right out of the attic, with a very unusual WWI SSI.

During WWI the 84th served in France as a depot division, supplying replacements to frontline units. During WWII it adopted a different patch design and served in Europe.
