 Original era manufacture. A consignment item from a long time collector from Northern California. Rigid frame red and white wool body with a large stamped tombak front plate. Rounded chinscale chinstrap with grenadier style bosses, one on each side and on the reverse of the body. The white wool portion of the body appears to have been blancoed or whitened at some point in its past. No moth damage, the leather chinscale connecting strap is dry.

 Original era manufacture. A complete and very sound example of this very unique piece of Imperial headgear. Worn by a variety of German Army units, jagers, airship units to name a few. This particular example is complete with an original field badge, chinstrap and national korkarde. Nice original liner & drawstring, all stitching is tight and strong. No extra holes behind the wappen, size about a 55, light flaking in a few spots to the liner leather, no rot. No real issues just normal age and light wear, it's as clean as it looks.

 Original era manufacture. Stamped steel plate with a matt gray paint finish. Both of the attaching lugs remain but the Orb and claw are missing from the bottom of the plate.
