German WWII Luftwaffe Signals EM Visor Hat
(6 photos)

$385.00

Original era manufacture. Early quality hat with a drooptail pattern cap eagle and 1938 date and unit marked under the sweatband. Minimal mothing in evidence, the stitching is sound and overall the hat is quite clean. The hat shows evidence of improper storage as it wants to lay a bit flat when not mounted on a display head. The band body is not broken, just bent, perhaps with some steam or moisture applied it can be reshaped for display.

Blue wool body with a painted leather visor and chinstrap with original sewn brass buttons, one on each side. Brown polished cotton lining with a wide leather sweatband. There is some minor (for its age) scattered mothing but overall the hat is quite sound. In the 1925 Bannerman's catalog hats similar to this one were being offered for sale at a price of 45 cents. Times have changed.

French WWI M1884 NCO Private Purchase Kepi, 76th Regiment

$295.00

Original era manufacture. An officers quality kepi with the famed red wool top and dark blue-black wool band. The regimental number is embroidered directly into the hat band, the 76th regiment was stationed in Paris and Coulommiers. Wide black leather sweatband with a black silk lining and gilt Paris makers logo. No mothing to report, however there is some staining on the back of the hat and some of the dark blue wool piping shows fraying. The patent leather visor turns down a bit at the front, this can probably be straightened out a bit.

$225.00

Original era manufacture. Regulation blue wool hat as worn by officers of the RAF during WWII. Size about a 7, named on the sweatband to a D.B.GRAY. Thin black leather chinstrap with black cloth covered side buttons. The bullion emblem has a King's pattern crown and a gilded brass stamped eagle device. The emblem is stitched in place on the sides with a straight pin through the top of the crown to keep it in place. These emblems I beleive were removable for cleaning.
German WWII Army Infantry Officers Visor Hat
(4 photos)

$595.00

Original era manufacture. Nice quality feldgrau doeskin top with white wool piping, dark green wool covered cap band. Bright aluminum wreath and eagle appear original to the hat. The right side wing securing pin of the eagle is missing, however the center pin and left side keep the eagle in place. Bright aluminum chincord with silver colored side buttons. Pale yellow silk lining with a partial sweat diamond. The leather sweatband is intact and sports a black velvet edge. Looks as if the front visor stitching has been reinforced a bit. No severe moth issues to report, just some very minor surface nibbling. A very presentable hat in about a size 57.
German WWII Medical Officer Visor Hat, Double Marked Erel

$695.00

Original era manufacture. A very clean example in a large size 60. Double EREL marked on the sweatband and diamond. The famous front band ventilator has been covered with a nicely embroidered bullion wreath and cockade, handsewn, so likely a previous owner installed piece. Very nice quality feldgrau wool body with blue piping and a nice saddle shape to the top. Very clean, no moth issues.
US Indian War M1872 Enlisted Forage Cap, 24th Infantry
(5 photos)

$475.00

Original era manufacture. A private purchase but regulation example of the shortened enlisted forage cap adopted in 1872. Blue wool top with an unbound, black painted leather visor and chinstrap. Two general service buttons, one on each side, secure the chinstrap. Correct style black silk lining with a gold embossed Boston makers logo in the crown. The brown leather sweatband is securely sewn to the body of the hat, however the inner black silk top curtain falls forward a bit, needs to be re-tacked. At some point in its life the hat has had a 24th Infantry emblem placed on its front. This is how the cap came to us, while the insignia is original, we cannot guarantee it to be original to the hat. The 24th and the 25th regiments, were of course, one of two, negro infantry regiments in the US Army during this period. Overall the hat is quite sound but does have a few small moth bites but nothing serious and to be expected for the age of the piece.

German WWI Feldgrau Enlisted Infantry Field Cap
(4 photos)

$350.00

Original era manufacture. I would say this is a private purchase example as no issue stamps can be seen in the lining. Light surface mothing but no holes, the top piping has faded a bit from age. The front kokarden have been re-attached at some point. On the left side of the hat is a French/Belgian cockade. No idea what it is doing there but it looks kinda cool so it will stay. Handwritten initials W.P. on the sweatband.
