German WWII K98 Bayonet & Frog, Mismatched (5 photos)
$125.00
|
Original era manufacture. Standard model bayonet maker marked clc 41, scabbard maker marked agv 43. The blade has satin blue finish with a decent amount remaining. There are a few, tiny scattered spots on the surface of the blade where it looks as if molten metal splashed on it. Nice dark plum bakelite grips, dark steel patina to the pommel and scabbard. The leather frog is a bit dry and the pommel strap has broken on the bottom side. Overall the bayonet has a nice vintage look to it and was likely brought home from the war this way, the patina matches perfectly.

German WWII K98 Bayonet, jwh 43, Force Matched Numbers (5 photos)
$95.00
|
Original era manufacture. Standard WWII pattern which was made at French arsenal Chatterault in 1943, code jwh. It bears the serial number 2898. The scabbard was made by Herder in 1939 and bears a handstamped number 2898 on the obverse of the scabbard throat. Was this a German attempt to force match the weapon, or perhaps down postwar by a Warsaw Pact country? Who knows, interesting variation anyway. Normal wear and use but sound overall.

German WWII Matching K98 Bayonet, W.K.C. 38, GI Modified (8 photos)
$95.00
|
Original era manufacture. Interesting bayonet which shows matching numbers blade to scabbard, 2319b. GI modified by a clever adaptation of a German WWII gasmask head harness into a belt loop with pommel strap. Sadly, the cleverness ended there as the attempts at sharpening the blade were dismal at best. Lots of grind marks to the cutting edge and the point was rounded somewhat. Still an interesting WWII relic.
