Original era manufacture. Standard 1821 pattern Royal Artillery sword, made, or retailed by Firmin and Sons of London.A polished steel blade measuring 32.5 inches in length, with an etched design on each side of the blade. On the obverse the wings and lightening bolts of the RA, and Canada Artillery. On the reverse is Victoria's cypher and crown. The blade is clean, running straight and true, with a few small nicks or bumps in the edge towards the point.Simple steel three branch guard, back strap and pommel, with a matching patina finish. Fish skin wrapped grip, which is bound with triple strand wire, minor wear to the fish skin covering.Dent free steel scabbard with two suspension rings, and a steel patina finish. Looks as if there is an old cosmoline covering to the surface, needing a light bath and it should clean right up.
