US-British, WWI 1st Model Helmet, Raw Edge, Brodie Patent Stamped

Original era manufacture. A rather scarce helmet, made without the edge binding, and sporting an original camouflage paint finish. The helmet is complete with its original liner and chinstrap, with a light blue colored adjusting instruction tag still in place. On the underside of the black oilcloth lining is a red stencil giving details on the Brodie patent issued by the War Department. There are letters and numbers stamped in the metal on the underside of the rim, I can make out the letter S and numbers 24, but others are difficult to make out due to paint and wear.The camouflage paint finish is interesting in that it reminds me of the camouflage applied to British artillery pieces during WWI.
