British 1911 Royal Engineers Rifle Association Shooting Medal, Cased, Named

Item #37822 : Original era manufacture. A very nice quality bronze shooting medal, awarded by the Royal Engineers Rifle Association in 1911, to Sapper F. Rule, 18881. It resides in its original case of issue which displays the Rifle Association name and date on its cover. The medal is quite sound, however the case shows scuffing and wear.Of note, the service number on the reverse of the medal is incorrect, it should read, 19881, doing some online research through Ancestry, I found a Francis Rule, Royal Engineers, with the aforementioned service number, not the number on the medal's reverse, who also was awarded the 1914 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal for service during WWI. Mistakes happen don't they...

Price: $95.00
