 Original era manufacture. Large porcelain cup which measures over four inches across. Near perfect handpainted decoration of crossed flags with the Imperial Chrysanthemum above. A few very small chips in the edge. No cracks.

 Original era manufacture. Lacquered wood tray which measures 9 inches across. Matt black inner surface which is decorated two crossed flags done in gloss black lacquer with a red Hinomaru displayed on one flag. There is some minor lacquer loss as usual but overall it is a very sound example.

 Original era manufacture. Complete, unused Japanese Sake advertising calendar for the year 1939. Interesting depiction of a victorious Japanese soldier standing atop a Chinese castle wall. Backing card measures 8x12" and shows checking and bending to the surface decoration. Great display piece.

 Original era manufacture. Large, oval shaped lacquered tray with gilt decoration. Crossed Japanese & American flags in the center with descriptive kanji characters. We believe this commemorates the 5th anniversary of American Japanese exchange of Martial Arts. No year is given. The general condition is quite sound with some scattered surface chipping on the base. Measures 15x11x1.5 inches.

Lot includes a nice example of the WWI Japanese Victory medal, porcelain sake cup and a period photograph of a WWI era Japanese Infantryman. There is a very tiny chip in the edge of the sake cup, otherwise all are sound and in good condition.
