 Original era manufacture. We recently purchased a small grouping of WWII German souvenirs sent home from Europe by a soldier who served as a US 3rd Army Jeep driver. The lucky recipient was his younger brother who cherished them and stored them away for many years before selling them to us. Double sided cotton flag which measures 30x53 inches with a sewn sleeve at one end for hanging. Clean overall, no rips or tears.

Double sided with a sewn black swastika. To our eye the center disc is placed on the body of the flag in an odd way. Early design or simply a goof-up at the factory. Clean overall, no holes. Sleeve sewn on one end for hanging.

 Original era manufacture. Larger size printed wool flag which measures about 60x100 inches. Very clean looking with clear makers marks and a KM proof on the white canvas hoist. There is some scattered mothing but nothing really dreadful, just typical of what one normally sees with these old wool flags.

No way to be sure if it is complete, probably not, but there are many pieces included, enough to complete a fair number of flags. Interesting that the Nazi Germany flag has been removed from the set, the Japanese flag remains however.

 Original era manufacture. Single sided white silk banner which measures 33 inches in length. Printed on one side is the date of 2.9.28, and a banner decication from the volunteer ambulance company of Furth i.Wald. Silk tie strings at the top. Shows light wear and use, no damage. We believe that this is an examble of the type of dedication or memmorial banner placed on wreaths at funerals.

 Original era manufacture. Worsted wool flag which measures 14x18" with two imitation leather tabs and tie strings in two of the corners. It is difficult to give an exact translation to the Kanji character, as it is almost a feeling rather than a verbal expression, Red Color or Country, to BE Japanese or united in spirit, faithful to the country. We have several nearly identical flags in stock, all are period flags and since they are made of wool all show some scattered moth nibbilings. The example we show is typical of the lot and will be sold last. Priced per one.

Very attractive looking flag with numerous hand applied kanji, one tear in the edge with a few small, scattered holes from moths and wear. The partial translation reads, year 2600 (1940), Good Luck for Bravery, Hisazumi-San.

The partial translation consists basically of names and patriotic slogans, Pray for good fortune in war, Sacrifice for the country. One interesting signature by the Chief of Police, Udono Office, Mie Prefecture, Tanoue Kyohei. The flag itself presents some scattered holes and rips, possible battle damage.

The partial translation consists of signatures of individuals from the Imperial Japanese Retired Soldiers Association, South Taino Village, to a member of the Matsuda Troop on thier dispatch to South China. There is a large hole in the Hinomaru and some scattered smaller ones, possible battle damage.
