Original era manufacture. Silver medal and clasp, named on the edge to; 8405 Acting Bombardier, G.I.Buck, No.18Co. SD R.A.The medal is clean, with good detail obverse/reverse with what appears to be its original ribbon in place. The naming is quite legible, and done in a slightly slanted flowing script.I did some preliminary research on Acting Bombardier George Ira Buck, Find My Past has his attestation papers stating his place of birth to be Aurora Illinois, yet, written in a lighter color inkby another hand, he states 'yes" to the question of British citizenship. Good detailsof his service record follow, including the mentioning of a second clasp to his medal, Tirah 1897-1898. Interestingly, the medal rolls on Ancestry only list the Punjab clasp.A wonderful old British campaign medal which will be a real treat for further research as he claimsAmerican birth.
