Original era manufacture. A very well made short sword with a polished steel blade measuring 16 inches in length. The blade is clean, no pitting, with runner wear visible to the surface, the point remains sharp. Heavy steel oval shaped guard, steel pommel, with wood grips with a checkered finish. The  leather bodied scabbard has intact stitching and a blue finish to the throat and chape. For some reason the blade will not close enough to let the underside of the guard reach the top of the scabbard throat. Must be something stuck down inside the tip of the scabbard.
